What Is Kids Pass — And Is It Worth It for UK Families?

If you're a parent in the UK looking for ways to save money on family activities, chances are you've come across the term Kids Pass. But what exactly is it, and why has it become one of the most popular family discount schemes in the UK?

In this article, we’ll explore what Kids Pass offers, how it works, and whether it’s worth signing up — especially if you're planning day trips, holidays, or even just meals out with the family. Whether you're new to Kids Pass or just curious, this guide will help you make the most of it.

What Is Kids Pass?

Kids Pass is a UK-based subscription service that gives families exclusive discounts on a wide range of attractions, activities, dining, and even holidays. Members pay a small monthly or annual fee and gain access to thousands of money-saving offers — often allowing them to recoup the cost of the subscription within a single use.

The core idea behind Kids Pass is simple: family fun shouldn't break the bank.

How Does Kids Pass Work?

Once you become a member, you’ll be able to access discounts through the Kids Pass app or website. These discounts cover:

Theme parks and attractions: Big names like LEGOLAND®, Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, and SEA LIFE Centres often feature deals.

Cinema tickets: Up to 40% off at major chains including Odeon, Vue, Cineworld, and Showcase.

Restaurants and dining: Kids eat free offers and discounts at restaurants such as Bella Italia, Pizza Hut, and more.

Days out: Zoos, aquariums, trampoline parks, play centres, bowling alleys — the list goes on.

UK breaks and travel: Discounts on family holidays, short breaks, and even car hire.

Membership starts with a 30-day trial for just £1, making it a low-risk way to test the service and see how much your family could save.

Why Is Kids Pass So Popular?

Families across the UK love Kids Pass for three big reasons:

Huge Savings – One visit to a theme park or a family cinema trip can often cover the cost of a month’s subscription (or even a year’s, in some cases).

Nationwide Offers – Whether you're in London, Manchester, Birmingham or a rural village, there’s almost always something near you.

Ease of Use – The mobile app makes it quick and easy to find and redeem offers on the go.

Plus, Kids Pass frequently adds new partners and keeps offers updated based on the season — perfect for planning during half-term, school holidays, or spontaneous weekends.

Is Kids Pass Worth It?

The short answer: Yes — for most families.

If you take your kids out even just once or twice a month, Kids Pass pays for itself quickly. The £1 trial lets you explore the offers available near you and see if it suits your family’s lifestyle.

Let’s say you take two kids to the cinema one weekend and then eat at a family restaurant after. You could easily save £10–£25 on that one outing. Now imagine doing that two or three times a month — the savings stack up fast.

What Families Are Saying

Many parents describe Kids Pass as their "secret weapon" for school holidays and weekends. Reviews frequently highlight how easy it is to save money without having to hunt for promo codes or limited-time deals.

"We saved £18 on our first trip to the cinema — it literally paid for itself in one day!"
"Used it for LEGOLAND and Frankie & Benny’s the same day. Got the trial for £1 and saved over £40."
"A must-have for any family who goes out more than once a month."

How to Sign Up for Kids Pass

Signing up is easy. Visit KidsPass.co.uk, and you’ll see the option to start your 30-day trial for just £1. After the trial, you can choose to continue with a monthly or annual subscription.

Final Thoughts: Should You Try Kids Pass?

The City Board: Featuring famous London landmarks and a dance-off challenge.

The Classic Board: A race against the clock via places like Fleet Street and Whitehall.

Hawes

A quaint little market town located in the heart of rural North Yorkshire, Hawes is a must visit if you’re a BIG fan of cheese.

As the home of the Wensleydale Creamery and its flagship cheese centre, visitors to Hawes can enjoy a cheese experience like no other at The Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience – yum.

Enjoy a cheese demonstration, delve into the thousand-year history of artisan cheese making, and take a guided tour in the Yorkshire Tasing Room - because what’s the point in a trip to a cheese centre without tasting any actual cheese… Day trippers can also peek inside the Creamery and have their photo taken with Wallace & Gromit; it’s definitely an experience not to be missed.

Haworth

Known for once being the home of the world’s most famous literary family, Haworth is a mecca for fans of the Brontë sisters and their work.

With its historic cobbled streets, rolling moors, and vintage charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back into another era, it’s no wonder that the village is said to have inspired some of the locations mentioned in Wuthering Heights.

As a homage to the sisters, many of the town's attractions bear their names, including the Brontë Waterfall and the Brontë Personage Museum - the sisters' former home. This is where Charlotte’s 'Jane Eyre', Emily’s 'Wuthering Heights', and Anne’s 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' were penned over one hundred and fifty years ago.

The village’s other attractions include the Keighley and Worth Valley five-mile Railway, which operates heritage steam and diesel trains, and the Hewenden Viaduct, a Grade II listed structure that stands as one of the highest viaducts in Britain. Although the village is small, it radiates charm, and its sloped high street, home to independent shops, offers an amazing view of the West Yorkshire countryside from the very top.

Robin Hood’s Bay

Another North York’s treasure is Robin Hood’s Bay, located just a few miles south of Whitby. This once smuggler’s den has been turned into quite the popular tourist destination.

Although small, the village offers a giant dose of charm with its cosy inns, fisherman’s cottages and spectacular costal walks along the steep cliff tops and down onto the beach.

The village is home to several species of birds and marine life, including puffins, seals and dolphins, so if you’re fancy a trip, make sure to pack your binoculars. If you’re a fossil enthusiast, you should definitely head to the Southern end of Robin Hood’s Bay, known as Boggle Hole, which is an area of scientific interest, due to the magnificent ammonites that have been found there over the years.

Surrounded by miles of beautiful West Yorkshire countryside, including the Pennine Hills and the Calderdale Way, the market town is a very popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, thanks to it’s walking and cycling trails.

In the town itself, there are plenty of artisan shops, friendly pubs, and quirky cafes to explore, as well as the weekly markets featuring locally produced food and other goods. The market operates on Thursday (general retail), Friday (preloved and second-hand), Saturday (arts and crafts), and Sunday (local produce) and can be found at Old Lees Yard in St Georges Square – the heart of the town.

If you’re in the area Hardcastle Crags, is a must-visit. Located in the South Pennines, and spanning over 400 acres of unspoilt woodland, it’s a great place to go for a stroll.

It’s CHRISTMAAAAS…well,almost…

We can all agree that Christmas is THE BEST time of year, right? From binge-watching your favourite festive films to singing along to those nostalgic catchy tunes that never seem to get old (even though they already are...). There’s just something so warming about this time of year - despite the baltic weather in the UK.

And nothing gets you into the Christmas spirit quite like a festive day out! But with all the Christmas markets, and present shopping, it might start to feel a bit…well, you know, like déjà vu?

Fear not! If you’re on the look out to treat yourself to a day filled with festive cheer (woo) and are sick of doing the same things every November/December, we’re here to level up your Christmas days out. We’ve found the best magical places to visit in the UK at Christmastime, and trust us, you won’t want to miss these!

This pretty pad is one of England’s biggest houses and a UNESCO Heritage Site – btw that’s how you know it’s well worth a visit.

During December the Palace is the best place to go if you’re looking for a real good festive day out. Marvel at the magical new Christmas light trail, which brings together a multitude of twinkling lights, seasonal sounds and festive fun - there’s even a sneaky chance you can catch a glimpse of the big man along the way, so make sure you’re on your best behaviour!

Inside the Palace you’ll be exported into The Story of Sleeping Beauty (with a contemporary twist) as the rooms are transformed to retell the classic fairy tale for a new generation. Wander through the Evil Fairy’s spooky lair and into the castle frozen still in time.

If light shows and immersive stories aren’t your thing – don’t worry. From 17th November until 17th December you can stock up on your favourite festive goodies at the Christmas Markets in The Great Court - sounds like a great place to bag yourself some presents, so put down that Lynx set and level up your gifting game!

20 Secret Beautiful Places in England

We’re spoilt for choice of beautiful places to visit in England. From a wealth of historical buildings, natural beauty and incredible attractions it’s hard to be bored. But if you’re feeling a bit like you’ve been there, done that with your usual spots to visit in England then you’re in luck. At Days Out there’s nothing we love more than a hidden gem which is why we’ve compiled a list of the 20 best secret beautiful places in England.

1.	Carn Euny, Cornwall

While this ancient village is managed by English Heritage you’ll still get a real feel of stumbling upon your very own discovery visiting this spot. It’s an easy walk from Chapel Carn Brea car park where you walk past the natural holy well that marks the site of St Euny’s Chapel.

Low stone walks of the roundhouses are visible beneath turf and wild flowers. You’re also able to explore the nearby Halliggye Fogou (Fogou is the Cornish word for cave) which is a complex set of passages thought to date back to the 4th or 5th century BC.

This remote spot lies on a south facing slope and is the perfect spot to soak in the history, natural beauty and serenity.

2.	Dungeness, Kent

A potentially subjective one on the definition of ‘beautiful’ but Dungeness is a truly spectacular place. A headland located on the coast of Kent, Dungeness is primarily made up of a shingle beach which is loomed over by the Nuclear Power Station. Okay, so it doesn’t sound too ‘beautiful’ just yet but trust us – Dungeness has the most otherworldly, breath-taking feel to it. The pebble beach is littered with abandoned shelters, boats, rusted bits of who-knows-what as well as old train tracks and train carriages which people now live in.

Featured on the cover of Pink Floyd’s 1981 album ‘A Collection of Great Dance Songs’. Dungeness has a strong artistic and musical history (Nicki Minaj’s single Freedom was filmed on the beach don’t ya know). Most notably it was home to the iconic artist Derek Jarman who moved into Prospect Cottage Dungeness after his diagnosis with HIV. Prospect Cottage on Dungeness beach is well worth the visit with one of the exterior walls being decorated in lines from the John Donne poem ‘The Sun Rising’ and the garden featuring a collection of sculptures created from driftwood and other flotsam from the beach.

If you’re also a miniature train lover, you’re in luck, Dungeness is home to the world’s smallest passenger railway. A miniature steam train that’s one-third full-size steam locomotive which travels the 13.5 mile stretch between Cinque Port in Hythe and Dungeness.

3.	Hunstanton, Norfolk

A short walk from the Victorian resort of Hunstanton, the banded cliffs of Old Hunstanton are a magnificent sight. Comprised of layers of rusty orange sandstone, red limestone and topped with chalk are framed by the sand and seaweed-covered rocks.

Uniquely for East Anglia these cliffs face west so it’s a stunning view at sunset.

4.	Sunbiggin Tarn, Cumbria

A dramatic and isolated spot, this large lake is a rarity in this region making it popular with wildlife and visitors alike. Most famous for its starling murmurations being the country’s largest and most spectacular, involving tens of thousands of birds at dusk on most autumn and winter evenings.

5.	The Strawberry Line, Somerset

Just off the coast of North Devon where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Bristol Channel lies Lundy Island. This wild and beautiful island is almost treeless, with a tiny population, no cars and just a whole lot of sheep, cattle, ponies and kilometres of footpaths.

The charm of Lundy comes from its varied terrain. On the west side exposed to the Atlantic with high rugged cliffs. On the east sheltered from the wind the coastline is gentler with grassy slopes and wild flowers. At night appreciate the beauty of the starry sky without the interference of light pollution from street lights.

Try and get a sighting of the cliffside puffins between April and July. You can stay in one of 23 unique self-catered historic properties (including a castle and a lighthouse!) which are owned by the Landmark Trust.

The main infinity pool looks out over the stunning valley, fells and Buttermere Lake. The walk is mainly flat and on a well maintained path. The last couple of hundred metres is slightly more rustic (but still easy to walk on).
Past the infinity pool the walk does become slightly less beginner friendly with no defined path.

9.	Aira Force, Ullswater

Aira Force waterfall is one of the most popular spots in the Lake District and its not hard to see why. Located in the Eastern Lakes near Lake Ullswater there’s easy access to this waterfall via various paths. Whichever route you take do expect some stair climbing. We recommend taking the Sitka Spruce path to the falls, returning via Ullswater Way track for a pleasant circuit.

This is one to avoid after heavy rainfall (murky frothy water isn’t quite as appealing).

If you’re up for slightly more adventure there are some great hidden swimming spots in the High Cascades above the main falls. While it involves some additional stairs, the track isn’t particularly challenging.

This is a popular spot so its best to plan your trip to avoid the midday and weekend rush.

For a straightforward circular walk from Aira Falls car park to the falls and back typically takes about 1 hour. While it isn't entirely flat due to forest inclines, it's a suitable walk for children.

Another great beginner walk in Grasmere this one features a fell and is a great summit to reach without being too challenging. Doable in around 2 hours this is a great walk to do at sunset. There’s no difficult scrambles or issues finding the path so great for amateur hikers. It can be quite steep but there’s plenty of spots to catch your breath. The views from the top are worth getting a little out of breath for!

Possibly the easiest and most accessible in the Lake District. This is a great walk to stretch your legs.. You’ll be able to see Keswick and Derwentwater and Cat Bells’ humpback ridge behind the town too. The views from the summit are well worth it. A few minutes down the road you’ll find Castlerigg Stone Circle which is also worth a visit.

Duration: 2-2.5 hours
