Mini-Einsteins step up and explore one of London's best (free!) days out at the Science Museum.

Kids who love all things out of this world won't want to miss the Exploring Space exhibition, where they can see cool objects like Helen Sharman's spacesuit which she wore when she became the first Briton into space.

Other interesting things to see include the first-ever Apple computer, retro teasmades, a totaliser machine previously used to calculate odds at Wembley Greyhound Stadium, robots and loads more across several fascinating zones.

And that's before you get to the basement garden where you can try out all the weird, wacky and wonderful experiments which will, quite literally, make your hair stand on end!

Kids will also love both the flight simulator and the IMAX 3D cinema experience, so these are certainly not to be missed. All the exploring and experimenting is bound to make you a bit peckish, so luckily there are several cafes within the Science Museum.
