This family went to Peter Rabbit: Explore and Play - here's what they all thought

Knowing whether your kids will love or loath a day out is similar to trying to sus out what the weather will be like in the UK – fundamentally, a lost cause.

That’s why we’ve picked the brains of a family who’ve been to one of our wonderful partner attractions – AKA you don’t have to go through the brain ache of figuring it out for yourself, cheers to that.

A bite-sized overview:

• Four themed zones with different sensory experiences
• Zones have challenges to gain entry to the Secret Treehouse Club to meet Peter Rabbit
• Each child will get an activity sheet to fill in as they work through each challenge (they’ll get a stamp for each one too – you know they’re gonna love that)

Rachel’s family favourites:

Jeremy Fisher’s Garden... An interactive pond for the kiddos to catch some fish, find some frogs and make a (ginormous) splash by stomping and running across the pond – that sounds like a dream come true if you ask us

Mr McGregor’s Garden... A mini-human-sized playground with tunnels, larger-than-life carrots (cool, right?) and miniature tree slides make for a workout real enough to put Joe Wicks to shame

The Burrow... A very interactive zone with tonnes of buttons to press – they’re probably already very good at this – and recipes to make for Mr Rabbit’s dinner

Some good-to-know gems:

• Once you’ve met Peter in the Treehouse, you cannot return to the explore and play area – so make the most of it
• Only a limited number of kiddos are allowed into the Secret Treehouse at once, so you have to wait your turn – Rachel and her fam waited less than 10 mins (on a bank holiday weekend too!)
• The zones are best suited to sprogs under 5 – although the super-friendly staff will encourage older kids to get involved (with a fast-paced radish hunt no less)
• Hand sanitizing stations are available in every zone
• Baby-changing toilets can be accessed through doors near the back of The Burrow
• It’s more cost-effective to purchase the QR code photo option (for £10), which allows you to download all the pics onto your phone - great way to share pictures if you’re in a group of more than one family
• The gift shop on the way out is rather pricy (typical for most attractions), but would be a dream come true for die-hard Peter fans... Think branded teddies, water bottles, bags AND keyrings - could be worth it as a one-off splurge
• Each kiddo gets a Peter Rabbit coin on exit of the Secret Treehouse (and a high-five from the big guy himself... Adorable, right?)
