You know that sloooow panoramic video that people put on their Insta story when they’re somewhere with a nice view? Well, take notes because there’s a 99% chance that you’ll feel compelled to do just that if you find yourself on a day out at one of these attractions – the views are simply chef’s kiss
So, cameras at the ready, here’s 5 UK attractions with amazing views.
We’ll admit that this one is pretty obvious, but you just can’t deny that the views from that big old Ferris wheel are darn good.
London’s a good-looking city from 135m up (and ground level, depending on where you are) and there’s no better place to take it all in, if you ask us. Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the Thames – you’ll see all the big sights during your thirty-minute rotation. Name a better selfie backdrop, we dare you.
OK, the Blackpool Tower Eye doesn’t spin around. But it’s pretty spectacular nonetheless.
From 380ft high on the top of the Blackpool Tower, you can see the Irish Sea, Lake District, Liverpool and the Isle of Man on a clear day. And (if you’ve been to Specsavers) your mates eating fish n chips on the Promenade.
Oh, did we mention that you have to walk out onto the glass SkyWalk to make the most of it? If you’re scared of heights, don’t look down.
Originally built in 1068 AD, Warwick Castle is older than most countries (we’re looking at you Dubai).
But what about the views? Scale the ramparts and you’ll see the surrounding area from the slots where archers used to fire arrows, as well as areas where defenders used to pour sewage onto people’s heads below. Lovely.
You’ll get the best views from the towers though. The 14th century Guy’s Tower is 29m high but the Caesar’s Tower tops it at 40m.
SEA LIFE Loch Lomond is a special one because it’s a treat for the eyes whether you’re inside the aquarium or out on the shores of the loch.
Inside is an underwater wonderland with sharks, otters, rays and turtles (to name a just few), in different interactive zones.
Above the waves, Loch Lomond is one of Scotland’s most beautiful spots. Check out the views from the Ben Lomond viewing shelter at Gartochan, the An Ceann Mor Inveruglas Pyramid and Falls of Falloch. Mind. Blowing.
Rides like Wicker Man, Nemesis and The Smiler help to make Alton Towers Britain’s most popular theme park. But it’s also set in some gorgeous, green Staffordshire countryside – which you’ll catch regular glimpses of from the top of the rides. Before hurtling back down at some serious speed, of course.
The park also has some stunning gardens too with beautiful flower displays and well-tended lawns. Perfect for stretching out on if you’re feeling a little queasy.
