Prices vary based on time and date of your visit, but at Days Out Edinburgh Dungeon tickets start from £20.50.

The recommended age for the Dungeons is 8+, but younger kids are welcome – as long as they’re over 5 and feeling brave. Kids under 5 won’t be admitted and those aged 5-15 must be accompanied by an adult (adult 16 and over).

Every tour takes around 70 minutes.

The Drop Dead ride is the only ride at Edinburgh Dungeons. It’s a 30m drop ride that recreates the freefall drop at the executioners’ gallows. Lovely.

You’ll have to be at least 1.4m to ride and it’s not suitable for pregnant visitors.

Most of the building is wheelchair accessible, however there are some uneven floor surfaces. Access to different areas is gained via passenger lifts and low-gradient slopes. Due to the nature of the building, only one wheelchair user can be accommodated at a time.

You can grab soft drinks and snacks at the onsite shop at the end of your tour (if you can stomach them) or calm yourself with something stronger at The Doric nearby.

The Edinburgh Dungeon is located on Market Street in the city centre – just a two-minute walk from Waverley Station if you’re arriving by train. It’s around 10-15 minutes from the city’s bus station and there’s car parking nearby at Waverley Station and Holyrood Road NCP.

There is not a car park at The Edinburgh Dungeon but there are NCP car parks nearby on Castle Terrace and at Holyrood Road.

Please check the Attraction’s operating calendar for opening times and dates. Tickets may not be valid for special events or concerts which may attract a separate admission fee.
