So, your kids wanna meet Santa this year? Could be fun, could be great. But there’s always that fear that the Santa they meet won’t be quite like the one they’ve dreamt of – and we know that’ll cause the tantrum of the century.
That’s why we’ve found the best Santa’s Grottos across the UK for you to browse at your own discretion.
Looking for more fun stuff to do with the kids? Check out our toddler-friendly days out and our favourite educational (but still fun) days out.
As if Winter Wonderland wasn’t a magical place to be anyway, it’s a great spot for meeting a top-notch Santa. It’s also a great spot to hide out from the big crowds, noise and lights – and it's where you’ll be transported straight to the North Pole (without the astronomical flight prices, winner).
Once you’ve met Mr Clause, explore the rest of Winter Wonderland and its many rides and eateries – it's a great family-friendly spot.
Looking for a Santa’s Grotto experience tucked into the trees and wildlife of a Safari Park? Well, this is perfect for you. This escape is just a 30-minute drive from Liverpool city centre – perfect for making the most of a weeknight before Christmas.
You can meet Santa during the day, as an add on to your general admission, or, if you feel like going to the full mile, you can visit in the evening with an Enchanted admission ticket. In the evenings, they have a trail of magical lights for you and the little ones to explore (which must be done with a hot chocolate in-hand, of course).
If the name wasn’t a giveaway, these guys are prettyyy fab at all things Christmas. Be prepared to receive a personalised invite (from Father Christmas himself no-less) asking for the help of your child this year. (He’ll need around 3.5 hours of your time to complete the adventure.)
On your adventure to meet Santa, you’ll meet elves in the Enchanted Forest and search for the secret doorway into Lapland – but not without stopping at The Toy Factory, Mother Christmas’ Kitchen and The Elven Village. And finally, you meet Father Christmas – he'll be very grateful (as he should be) for the work your kiddo put into helping him out (P.S, they’ll get a little prezzie from him too).
A picture-perfect Christmas location if you ask us. From exploring the historic gardens illuminated by their magic light trail, to ice-skating (in an open-air rink based on the castle grounds), Warwick Castle has plenty to keep you busy.
We couldn’t forget about the big man himself, of course. Make memories as Santa and Mrs. Claus read your little ones a special story of Christmas hope and joy (sounds cheesy but it's totally adorable). You think one day isn’t enough? Luckily Warwick Castle are hosting Santa Sleepovers – expect wake up calls from the elves (with presents, of course) and tickets included to visit Stories with Santa.
Not only will you meet Santa at this experience, but you’ll also get to know his newest helper, Elfie. Straight out of training camp, Elfie seems to be rather clumsy, causing havoc everywhere she goes - it's your job to help and support her as she learns to be brave.
All little attendees will receive a storybook of Elfie’s adventures (and a chocolate treat) after meeting Santa himself. The Eden Project is also hosting ‘Relaxed Sessions’ on the 3rd, 4th, 10th, 17th and 21st for those who may benefit from a more informal experience – such as those with autism, sensory and communicative needs.
At Days Out, you can book the UK’s best attractions (y’know the proper FOMO inducing ones?) -- we know where’s perfect for you. Find your next adventure.
