If you’re a Coaster enthusiast, you know that the dry season for UK-adrenaline-kicks is well on its way. We know, it’s hard.

Here’s the list of theme park closing dates so you can, you know, mentally prepare.

Don’t worry though, our site is jam-packed with other days out that are just as awesome which’ll keep you occupied until March rolls around. Don’t believe us? Have a look for yourself.

So, when does Alton Towers close for the winter? – November 6th

With Oktoberfest and Scarefest throughout September and October, Alton Towers closes its doors in early November but not before they finish up with three nights of spectacular fireworks – now isn’t that a good way to say ‘tra’?

The park does re-open at the end of November for Lightopia (their Christmas extravaganza) although it is more family fun than a true theme park experience – they do have some rides open but unless the Postman Pat Parcel Post is your thing, you probably won’t be too impressed.

Scarefest: 7th – 9th & 14th – 31st October

Fireworks: 4th – 6th November

Winter closing: 6th November

Lightopia: 25th November – 2nd January

When does Thorpe Park close for the winter? – October 31st. Sigh.

Similar to Alton Towers, Thorpe Park closes for Winter at the end of October after their Oktoberfest and Fright Nights celebrations come to an end – talk about enjoying Autumn. If you’ve never been to Fright Nights, now’s this time because they’re even better this year, Thorpe Park is celebrating their 21st birthday (they can officially drink some booze in the US of A!!).

Fright Nights: 30th September – 31st October

Winter closing: 31st October

When does Blackpool Pleasure Beach close for the winter? - October 30th / November 27th

This one closes a little later in the season so there’s still some time to ride The Big One (it just might be a bit chillier up there). The park is only open on weekends throughout November though, so just keep that in mind. AKA, they’ll probably be busy. Their last month of business-as-usual is October which is the perfect opportunity for a half term trip, if you ask us.

Journey to Hell Freak Nights: 7th – 30th October

November: Only open on weekends

Winter closing: 27th November

When does LEGOLAND® Windsor close for the winter? - November 6th

Also similar to Alton Towers, LEGOLAND® Windsor opens after Halloween and Bonfire Night for some Christmas festivities – LEGO® and Christmas? Now that’s the combo you never knew you needed. But you can’t miss out on their Halloween event, sneakily named ‘Brick or Treat’ - that’s our fav Halloween attraction name, dunno about you.

Brick or Treat: 1st - 31st October 2022

Fireworks: 4th - 6th November 2022

Christmas: Selected dates from 26th November 2022 - 3rd January 2023

Hope that didn't bring a tear to your eye... At least you're in the know now. Soz.
