Manchester has cracking footy (whether you prefer red or blue), great restaurants and tons of cult music. Salford has a stunning culture and entertainment hub at the Quays and it’s also home to punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke (‘Evidently Chickentown’ is a classic).
But what else is good in this famous county? Stockport still has a gorgeous Art Deco cinema. Wigan has supercar racing at the Three Sisters circuit. And you can grab a pint at Ye Olde Man & Scythe in Bolton – it first opened in 1251 AD but they’ve upped the prices a little bit since then (we tried).
Kids followed you on holiday again? Get them out your hair for a while at the likes of the Legoland Discovery Centre, Sea Life and Play Factore.
