Days out in East Sussex

Brighton beach is pretty pebbly but there are sandy stretches where you can play volleyball, a traditional pier with rides for the kids, and plenty of parties for adults after dark. Sealife’s here too – with sharks, turtles and lots of other cute and deadly things.

What else is on the go?

If you’re all about action, try windsurfing or kite-flying on Camber Sands. Hastings has cool galleries and boutiques (with pretty stunning sea views). But for something out of the ordinary, catch an outdoor Shakespeare production at Eastbourne’s Italian Gardens. Watch the actors strut their stuff as the sun goes down and you’re a world away.

East Sussex – often sunny and always a bit different.
