The Savoy

Merely saying the name of this iconic hotel feels wealthy. The kind of wealthy that would happily use a tenner to wipe snot off their left nostril – you know the type.

It’s as much a part of the furniture as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben – and that’s saying something. The luxury joint opened back in 1889 and was a revolution, with its modern lifts and electric lighting, but was given a face lift in 2010 – although the designers didn’t take away from The Savoy’s classic look.

Price: From £638 per night

Address: Strand, WC2R 0EZ

The Ritz London

Ever wanted to eat tiny sandwiches and cakes while feeling undeniably better than everyone else? The Ritz is probably the place for you.

Afternoon tea is served daily from 11.30 am until 7.30 pm, so you’ve plenty of time to get your hands on those little goodies – if you feel like mixing things up, join them for Friday night dinner and dancing to really feel like a royal.

If this old London hotel isn’t considered an iconic spot, honestly, we don’t know what is.

Price: From £839 per night

Address: 150 Piccadilly, St. James’s, W1J 9BR

Claridge's

Enter this beautiful hotel and instantly feel its glamorous history. Founded way back in 1812, the hotel really came into itself in the 1920s – the iconic flapper era. Ever since, it’s been host to Royals in the 40s and global stars in the 50s (Bing Crosby and Audrey Hepburn are just two that come to mind...)

If you’re waiting for us to mention a more recent celeb sighting, Kate Moss held her 30th birthday party right here at the hotel – and if that isn’t a reason to visit, we don’t know what is.

Price: From £680 per night

Address: Brook Street, Mayfair, W1K 4HR

The Beaumont

This one is a little newer to the scene. Although its building is grade II listed (having been built back in 1926, Christ), The Beaumont opened in 2014. Its creators, formerly of The Ivy and Le Caprice, matched the interior design perfectly with the art-deco exterior.

Not your typical London famous hotel, but definitely worth a visit for the decoration alone. Oh, and we can't forget to mention the stunning work that happened during their 2021 'gentle refurbishment', adding a brand-new lounge and al fresco dining terrace - both giving off comfortable luxury.

Price: From £675 per night

Address: Brown Hart Gardens, Mayfair, W1K 6TF

Bulgari Hotel

A sleek and modern take on luxury accommodation, this hotel isn’t nearly as ‘Bulgari’ as you’d expect...

It’s not just the 85 rooms (and two private apartments) which make this hotel special, the stay is an experience itself. With their on-site restaurant, Sette, serving hearty Italian dishes, and the basement bar, Nolita Social, loaded with a sublime cocktail menu – looks perfect for a party if you ask us. Oh, and we’ve saved the best ‘til last. The 47-seat private cinema is quite the spot, showing films and holding special occasions throughout the year.

Price: From £675 per night

Address: 171 Knightsbridge, London SW7 1DW

Portobello Hotel

Allegedly (but let's admit we all believe it), Johnny Depp and Kate Moss filled a bathtub with champagne – and you best bet that put The Portobello Hotel on the map. And just to be iconic, the hotel itself offered this service to guests back in 2003 in celebration their 32nd birthday - costing £1,000 per bathtub if you were wondering.

Made up of two mansions on a Notting Hill Street, famous musicians have made this a rockstar spot for years – think Robbie Williams and Alice Cooper.

Price: From £317 per night

Address: 22 Stanley Gardens, Notting Hill, W11 2NG

The Corinthia

Do you fancy feeling like you’re both literally and physically above everyone else? Well, this hotel is probably the place to do it.

The modern but timelessly decorated rooms make as a great base point for a trip to London town – and you wouldn’t even have to leave the hotel if you didn’t want to with their array of dining options. From The Winter Garden, practically an oasis set in the middle of the capital, has been made for alfresco dining, or if you fancy a couple of drinks, head to Velvet, their luxurious champagne and cocktail bar.

Hotel Café Royal

It’s luxury from the get-go at this Regent Street Hotel – with a marble lobby decorated with Louis XVI features. And we can’t forget to mention the Cake & Bubbles café which serves champagne and Michelin-starred pastries, obviously.

Once you step into one of the light and airy hotel rooms, you’ll feel transported to the beautiful streets of Paris – but without the unpleasant Parisian attitude, winner.
