Days out in Great Yarmouth

When you get here, make a beeline for the Pleasure Beach. Laugh at your kids getting scared on Floaty Boaty, then instantly regret it when it’s your turn on Lightning 360. And if romantic walks are more your thing, quieter beaches like Scratby and Winterton-on-Sea are worth checking out.

But what else does Great Yarmouth have to offer?

Sealife has sharks, penguins and crocodiles. There’s a medieval castle and cool classic car collection at Caister. And there’s always Horsey Windpump. Nothing to do with horses’ bottoms (whew!) – it’s a lovely retro windmill with a tearoom and amazing views over the Broadlands.

Just 20 minutes’ drive from Norwich, Great Yarmouth is a good pick for families or a weekend getaway in the fresh air.
