From haunting Taunton to the Mendip Hills and Glastonbury Tor, there’s a definite Hippy buzz about the place. And attractions like Bath’s Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein and Watchet’s Wands and Wizards Exploratorium are weird and wonderful too.
If you’re into engineering, the Clifton Suspension Bridge runs from Clifton Village in Somerset into Bristol. And the Cheddar Show Caves in Cheddar Gorge is where Britain’s oldest human skeleton was found in 1903. It’s 9000 years old and (you guessed it) they called it Cheddar Man.
